Existing documentation systems like gel boxes can be overly complicated, and glare on agar media can obscure colonies and other important details. The Fluorobox addresses these challenges with specialized lighting and a background that result in evenly lit, glare-free, and high contrast photos, making it ideal for photographing plates. This platform is designed to work seamlessly with a phone camera, allowing for quick and easy generation of high-quality photographs, which is essential for automated colony counting.
High-throughput CFU counting
Generate colony counting plates orders of magnitude more efficiently with our automated colony counting system, utilizing 96-well dilution plates alongside a 96-spot rectangular media plate. Make dilutions within a single plate using a multi-channel pipette. For creating spot plates, employ a 96 channel pipetter or a multichannel pipette. This method has been shown to be almost as accurate as the traditional single sample round plating method, making it ideal for photographing plates.

Automatically count CFUs with our tailored software, designed as an imageJ/FIJI plug-in. The Count-on-it Suite features an efficient automated colony counting system, including a basic plate counter and a specialized colony counter for 96 spot plates, and generates a detailed receipt for each photographed plate processed.
