Accurate and convenient documentation
Taking a good photo of your plate shouldn't be difficult. Existing documentation systems like gel boxes can be overly complicated. Glare on agar media will obscure colonies and other important information. The Fluorobox solves these problems with specialized lighting and background that result in evenly lit, glare-free, and high contrast photos. This platform is designed to be used with a phone camera, making it quick and easy to generate high quality photographs.
High-throughput CFU counting
Generate colony counting plates orders of magnitude more efficiently, by using 96-well dilution plates in conjunction with a 96-spot rectangular media plate and our automated system. Using a multi-channel pipette, make dilutions within a single plate. Use a 96 channel pipetter or a multichannel to make spot plates. Shown to be almost as accurate as the traditional single sample round plating method.
Easily take archival photos of CFU plates
This platform allows you to quickly and easily capture high-quality photos using your own camera or phone. The photos are glare-free and evenly lit to get the best quality image for thresholding and segmentation. Not only will this revolutionize colony counting, but it allow you to save your plates indefinitely, it is definitely a better way to store data than just a raw CFU count.

Custom software for colony counting
Automatically count CFUs with our purpose-built software, provided as an imageJ/FIJI plug-in. Count-on-it Suite includes a basic plate counter and a special colony counter for 96 spot plates, creates a descriptive receipt for each photo processed.
